Ladies Appreciation Dinner

We, the Knights of Columbus of the St. Clare of Assisi Council #12963, as well as Knights of Columbus from all across the Order, recognize wholeheartedly that we could not do the good works that we do without the loving support of our ladies.

It is with that understand that we, of the St. Clare's Council, hold our annual Ladies appreciation dinner.  It shows, in a tangible form, our ladies that we love, care for, and appreciate them and all that they do.

To show our appreciation, we treated the ladies to a very special dinner.  A dinner where the men set up, cooked all of the food, served the food and drinks, and cleaned up the dishes when the meal was through!  Chairs were pulled out, wine glasses refilled, and all without the ladies having to do a thing but enjoy themselves.

The menu:

Appetizers:

Meatballs

Ham Salad and Crackers

Leaf Lettuce Salad

Green Beans al-dente

Warm German Potato Salad

Entrées:

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Manicotti (entirely homemade)

Sheppard's Pie

Sausage and Sauerkraut

Dessert:

Pistachio Bunt Cake

Coffee

Special thanks go to Pete and Colleen Caylor for allowing us to invade their home for the event.

Below are some photos of the night's events.  Click on any photo to see it larger.

The ladies gather:

The men cook the meals and seat the ladies:

At the request of the ladies, no photos were taken of people eating (except one)

See how much we love our wives?

The dinner is a success!  The men gather the dishes and...wait...how many guys does it take to figure out a dishwasher?

Dessert is served, and some nice photos taken

After dinner, some fellowship and storytelling.  Actually, this section is best described simply by the title "So there I was..."

Prizes are given out by Mrs. Colleen Caylor (you get socks for participating, and a hat for the best "The Worst Present My Husband Ever Gave Me" story...or so the rumor goes).  Of course, as we were in the lovely home of Mrs. Caylor, we must display her prized possession...the lovely flamingo slippers!
