Annual

Bikes for the World

bicycle drive

What: "Bikes for the World" used bicycle collection
Where: St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church - parking lot
When: Sunday, April 09 (Palm Sunday), 2006
8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Why: Providing a person in a developing, 3rd world country with a working bicycle is equivalent to providing them with a new livelihood.  It means the person is now capable of longer and faster commutes, hoisting more goods, and providing more services.

To you, that used bike may be nothing more than space-taking junk in your garage.

To that individual, that used bike is a treasure.

In Addition: Also sought are donations of usable spare parts, accessories, and cash.  We ask any donors to consider donating $10 to defray shipping costs.
Details: Bicycles donated will be provided to "Bikes for the World," a 501(c)(3) organization that distributes the bikes to partner organizations in developing third world countries to get students to school and adults to work.
