Annual

Fr. Charles A. Ryan Memorial Thanksgiving Food Drive

What: Thanksgiving Food Drive
Where: St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church - parking lot
When: November 17, 2007 - 5pm to 6:30pm
November 18, 2007 - 7am to 12 noon
Why: Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and joy.  A time of food, family, and counting our blessings.  But, not everyone is as blessed as we.  Part of being thankful for our good fortune is using that to help others.

The Knights will be collecting food and cash to distribute to needy families.  Please, help us to help them have something for which they can truly be thankful.

Our Goal: This year, we are seeking to put together 50 complete meals and $500.  Money will be used to purchase rolls and pies (things that spoil quickly) the day before they are delivered.  Any excess money will be used to help feed the poor.
What we Need to Collect: A complete food basket, designed to feed a family of 4 to 6 people, will contain the following:

1 - 10 to 12 pound Frozen Turkey (FROZEN, please)
2 - Cans of Turkey Gravy
2 - Cans of Sweet Potatoes
2 - Cans of Whole Kernel Corn
2 - Cans of Peas or Green Beans
2 - Cans of Cranberry Sauce
2 - Boxes (or packages) of Stuffing Mix
1 - Large Box of Instant Mashed Potatoes
1 - Gallon of Apple Juice
2 - pounds of Apples

If you wish to volunteer for this event,
please contact Mr. Jerry Walsh - 703-385-6162
